Do this... not that (Nutrition)

JVH'ers,

Now that the warm weather has arrived people seem to be a little bit more conscious of their food intake.  One reason is most likely that you want to look good on the beach.  

Another, perhaps more important reason is that you have to stay hydrated.  

Hopefully you've learned this before, but just in case you haven't do this:

Instead of drinking juice to quench your thirst or ingest electrolytes, eat whole fruits.  Fruits such as oranges, strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, grapefruit, apples, grapes and kiwi.

Along with your fruit, drink a lot of water.  At least half your bodyweight in ounces per day.

Why?

Most fruit juices have high fructose corn syrup, GMO's and simple sugars.  

If you like flavor in your water, cut up a bunch of fruit and toss it in your water.  I actually keep a pitcher of fruit infused water in my fridge all week.  I cut up the fruit on Monday and refill the pitcher throughout the week.  It's absolutely delicious.
